New and improved personal interest surveys page

January 10, 2008

Your personal interest surveys can be accessed by clicking “You”, then “Interest surveys”. Personal interest surveys are designed to allow us to better personalize the service we provide you; completing your personal interest surveys means you will receive more and better targeted survey invitations. The personal interest surveys page has been redesigned for easier navigation, and the surveys are now divided into three categories:

  • surveys you haven’t answered yet
  • surveys you answered but have since been updated and require your attention
  • surveys you haven’t answered yet

Each personal interest survey is awarded 500 points, and upon completion of all surveys you will receive a bonus 2000 points. Click here to complete your interest surveys now!

New content personalization options

January 10, 2008

Would you like to keep polls you’ve already voted on and opinion topics you’ve already commented on off your Toluna pages? No problem. We’ve added two new options which provide you with much better control over the content displayed on Toluna: from the navigation menu, select “My account”, then select “Preferences for polls and opinions” from the menu on the left. You will be presented with two new options:

  1. Do not show me polls I already voted on
  2. Do not show me topics I already posted my opinion on

Simply check the box next to either or both of these preferences, click submit, and from now on you will only see polls and opinion topics that you have not participated in- click here to go to your preferences page now.

Enjoy!

New poll and opinion topic creation options

January 9, 2008

We’ve added several new options to the poll and opinion topic creation process:

Polls

  • Limit voting to registered members only: if you select this option, only registered Toluna members will be allowed to vote on your poll. This means that your poll’s results will be more detailed and better demographic information will be available.
  • Skip sign-in option for voters: When non-registered users vote on a poll, both on Toluna.com and on external sites, they are prompted to register within the widget. This stage can be skipped by selecting the “skip sign-in option for voters” during the poll creation process.

Opinions

  • Set a minimum length for opinions left on topics: the default minimum length is 10 words, but you can select 20,40,60,80,100 words or no minimum during the opinion topic creation process. This means that if another member wants leave an opinion on the topic you created they would have to match the minimum you set; use this option if you want other members to leave detailed opinions (no more yes/no opinions!)

So what are you waiting for? Click here to create a new poll or click here to create a new opinion topic- enjoy, and please let us know how you like these new options!
